Some of Eastern Oregon’s best views appear after sunset. Spend the day hiking along the John Day River at Cottonwood Canyon State Park, then stay to see why it earned recognition as an International Dark Sky Park. With limited light pollution, it’s an incredible place to see the Milky Way. ⭐️ After a summer of wildfire activity, support communities throughout the John Day River Territory by grabbing a meal, shopping locally or staying overnight in Condon, Arlington or Fossil. Remember to check current conditions and always pack out what you bring.📸 1. Joni Kabana // 📸 2. Destination by Design

Plan a weekend getaway to historic Baker City, where small-town charm, good food and plenty to do are just a road trip away. 🚗Located along I-84, Baker City is about two hours from Boise and three hours from the Tri-Cities. Spend the weekend browsing downtown shops, trying local restaurants, wine tasting and catching live music. Make time for a sunny stroll along the river walk, and check the local events calendar for festivals and gatherings happening on Main Street.Tag someone you’d love to spend a weekend in Baker City with! 💛 📸 @wunzagain
