One of a number of small desert lakes with excellent fishing, 150-acre Krumbo Reservoir is located within the Malheur National Refuge south of Burns. It holds rainbow trout that average in the 16-inch range, along with largemouth bass and some white crappie. Typical of desert lakes, fishing is best in the spring and fall when the weather and water is cooler. Krumbo Reservoir is open to angling year round.
