Krumbo Reservoir

Krumbo Reservoir

One of a number of small desert lakes with excellent fishing, 150-acre Krumbo  Reservoir is located with in the Malheur National Refuge south of Burns. It holds rainbow trout that average in the 16-inch range, along with largemouth bass and some white crappie. Typical of desert lakes, fishing is best in the spring and fall when the weather and water is cooler. Fishing in summer, under the blazing desert sun, can be quite uncomfortable, and the bite tends to be off when the water warms up.

Krumbo Reservoir is open to angling from April 22 through October 31. Key species: rainbow trout, largemouth bass, white crappie
