September Oregon Folklife Residency – Clair Kehrberg

The National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (NHOTIC), with thanks to the James and Marion Miller

Foundation, will host an “Oregon Culture Keeper Residency,” a 7-month partnership with the Oregon Folklife

Network. In September they will host Oregon Cultural Keeper Clair Kehrberg for a Folklife Residency

September 24th , 25th and 26th.

Clair Kehrberg, from John Day, a master leather worker, gear and saddle maker will come to NHOTIC in

September to demonstrate the techniques she has learned and will highlight her unique leather working style

with smaller leather pieces such as purses, bags, jewelry and decorative items.

Clair will be demonstrating in the Wagon Box Theater inside the Interpretive Center for three full days from

9am to 5pm starting on Thursday September 24th for three days.
